Attire   Boutonniere

Attire

The groom should choose his attire based on the formality of the wedding.

Usually a tuxedo is worn at formal or semi-formal weddings.

Start looking for formal wear several weeks before the wedding to ensure a wide selection and to allow enough time for alternations.

Pick up formal wear a few days before your wedding, allowing time for any last minute alternations.

Formal Daytime Wedding

Cutaway or stroller jacket, waistcoat striped trouser, white wing-collared shirt, striped tie, studs and cufflinks.

Formal Evening Wedding

Black dinner jacket, matching trousers

waistcoat, white tuxedo shirt, bow tie, vest and cufflinks.

Semi-formal Evening

Formal suit or dinner jacket, matching

trousers, white shirt, vest, black bow tie, cufflinks and studs.

Semi-formal Daytime

Formal suit, white dress shirt cummerbund

or vest, four-in-hand or bow tie.

Informal Wedding

Business suit, white dress shirt and tie.

When selecting formal wear, consider the use of darker colours for an autumn or winter wedding, and lighter colours for a spring or summer wedding.

Boutonniere

The Groom wears his boutonniere on the left lapel, nearest to his heart.

Boutonnieres are generally a single blossom such as rosebud, freesia or mini carnation.

Consider using a cluster of flowers instead of a single bloom.

The Groom gives each man in his wedding party a boutonniere.

The ring bearer may or may not wear one, depending on his outfit.

The Groom should also consider one to other close family members.

While this adds to expenses,  the family members feel more included in your

wedding.

To save money consider using a mini-carnation rather than roses.
